Pulling My Hair Out trying to talk to a government employee

I have always been self employed, so when I ask a question I expect an answer.  Last week in the Hutch paper an article ran about a energy conference to be held in September in Topeka Kansas.  Well I called several offices before I finally got to the right person, the event organizer.  I asked him if their was going to be any kind of debate.  He said oh yes, 2 people l from KU and the 2nd from KS.  I questioned a little more to find they were both on the same side.  What a debate. I asked him why they didn't have an actual debate covering both sides of GW, he said that their had been a lot of them in Topeka.  I guess I missed the coverage on all of them.  I asked him than who was paying for this, he said individuals paid their own way, upon more questioning I finally found out that most of the people attending are from county government offices around the state, which means I am sure that each county will pay the expenses for their people to attend.  This is not a conference to hear both sides, no this is a conference to promote renewable energy, and all the people in the field will be their touting their wears.  I told him I thought with something of this maganatitude their should be both sides openly discussed. He said that was my right to have that opinion, but that was not what this conference is about.  We are talking about our life styles, Our personal lives that are effected here.  The Left and the Environmentalist have for too long a strangle hold on energy, and now we see the results.  Why can't we for once have a politician do something for the good of America, stand up for it, and don't let environmental groups rule.  Well now I feel a little better.  My next article I will submit to the paper will be on the conference, I will do my research.  If anyone has ever been to a debate with both sides there, and actual questions and answers, not just doctrine preached, about a  "settled science"  Would love to hear from you.
